Canine Welfare Lectures- Milwaukee, WI
A year of real science on raising a healthier, happier dog
Twelve months, twelve topics. From body language and enrichment to veterinary care, nutrution and grooming, canine cognition, and healthy aging.
The Canine Welfare Lecture Series is a year-long education series for anyone who wants to understand their dog and their world better, taught by Dr Lori Rockwell. This series is informative and interactive
No dog needs to attend; just you, your questions, and 2 hours of real, usable science that is guaranteed to change how you see your dog and their world.
What It Is
Real welfare science, not internet advice
Every session digs into one piece of what actually makes a dog's life better; grounded in behavioral science, not outdated theory or whatever's trending. You'll leave with a clear understanding of the topic and things you can put into practice that same week, whether you're raising a puppy, living with a reactive dog, or just want to be a better advocate for the dog you already love.
You want to actually understand why your dog does what they do, not just get a list of commands
You're an owner who wants trusted, science-backed education instead of conflicting advice from every corner of the internet. No trends, just information
Your dog is your family, and you want to go deeper than "fine"; enrichment, cognition, and welfare, not just obedience
You want to give your dog their best life and have a desire to better understand how they perceive the world around them
You work with or around dogs professionally and want education from a veterinary professional who specializes in tough cases.

Who is Dr Lori Rockwell?
Dr Lori is a veterinarian with a special focus on animal welfare
From her website:
I’m Dr. Lorene (Lori) Rockwell — a veterinarian dedicated to the physical and behavioral health of dogs and cats, with a special focus on animal welfare and the life-changing power of the human-animal bond. With a background in veterinary medicine, animal behavior, and rehabilitation, my mission is to help pets live healthier, happier lives—and to support the people who love them. I believe that good veterinary care goes beyond treating illness. It’s about creating an environment where animals feel safe, respected, and empowered to participate in their own well-being. Through science-backed practices, positive reinforcement, and a deep respect for every pet’s individual needs, I work to strengthen the relationships between animals and their families—because when that bond is strong, everything else becomes possible. Whether you’re here to explore my clinical work, behavior expertise, or training philosophy, thank you for stopping by. I’m excited to share my journey with you.
