What We Offer
Private training-One dog. One Trainer. Your goals.
Private training is 1:1 coaching between your dog, your trainer, and you. No other dogs, no distractions, no waiting your turn. Every session is built around your dog's specific needs and your specific goals, from day one.
We can do private training in your home, in our gym or meet you in the community. Whatever suits your needs!
Private training is for you if:
Your dog is reactive, fearful, or anxious around other dogs or people, and a room full of strangers is the last place they'll learn
Your dog needs to work on something specific-leash reactivity, polite greetings, building confidence, fostering calm behaviors, jumping, recall- that a general curriculum won't touch
You want a training plan that fits your schedule and your home life, not a fixed weekly time slot.
You have a newly adopted dog, or a new puppy and want to be sure you are laying down great foundations instead of troubleshooting problems down the road.
Every training Session Includes
Science backed practices that are force free and positive
Whether you choose a group class or 1:1 private training, we use force free methods that are backed by science and research.
Every method we use is grounded in how dogs actually learn-positive reinforcement, clear communication, and a training plan built on behavioral science, not dominance theory or outdated corrections. That means no shock collars, no prong collars, no intimidation. We're not interested in a dog that complies out of fear; we're building a dog who understands what's being asked and wants to do it.
This approach takes more skill, not less. It requires reading a dog's body language, understanding thresholds, and knowing exactly when and how to reinforce, which is exactly what our trainers are trained to do. The result is a dog who's genuinely calmer and more confident, and a relationship between you and your dog built on trust instead of fear.
Builds and strengthens the relationship between you and your dog
By using force free methods, you build trust with your dog. They want to work for you because the relationship is stronger
Enrichment is as important as the cue
Cues are great, however, we also focus on enrichment. When your dogs needs are met, they are calmer, happier and more confident. Dogs can learn better when their natural needs are met.
Science backed, not old school
No aversives are used in our training. We believe that training is a two way communication with our dogs. We don't use outdated methods- we use science backed methods and can happily explain the science behind what we do!
Judgment-Free Zone
Reactive, shy, senior - all dogs are welcome here. We are here to help you and your dog work through issues.
We do not judge- we care deeply about our clients and their relationship with their dogs. We understand how much better the relationship can be with small changes and consistent work.
What if I want a group class
Group Classes are perfect for you if:
For social, outgoing dogs, group classes offer something private sessions can't: real-world practice with real-world distractions, alongside other dogs and owners working toward the same goals. It's where foundational obedience becomes reliable obedience — sit and stay are easy in your living room, less so with five other dogs in the room — and it gives well-socialized dogs a chance to build focus and manners in a fun, structured setting. Classes run on the same force-free, science-backed methods as our private sessions, just with the added bonus of community: you'll pick up tips from other owners, celebrate each other's wins, and give your dog the kind of social enrichment that only comes from learning alongside its peers.
Reactive Dogs
Our You Have a Friend Reactive dog class is perfect for reactive dogs that need space but can be in a room with other dogs. We limit class size to 4 dogs per class.
Shy or Anxious Dogs
Classes like Decompression in Nature, Scentwork, Everyday Enrichment and Patio prep are great for building confidence and helping to reduce anxiety.
High-Energy Dogs
High energy dogs benefit from classes like Doggie parkour, Scentwork, Games for Urban Dogs, and Chaos to Calm; it's an opportunity to use their bodies and their brains.
Senior Dogs
Senior dogs love our Fitness classes, Focus classes, Decompression in Nature and Everyday Enrichment classes. These classes are set up to allow each dog to set their pace.
Recovering Dogs
Dogs recovering from an injury or illness would benefit from our Canine Fitness classes after they have clearance from their vet to participate.
Any Dog!
We tackle real world needs like leash walking, polite greetings, patio prep, and focus through a variety of class topics.
Why Choose Us
Milwaukee's Enrichment-Focused Canine Gym
Canine Einstein isn't just a place to burn energy -it's a place to build confidence, reduce stress, and strengthen the bond between you and your dog.
We look at the whole dog: their background, genetics, learning style, and current environment. In every dog, there is an Einstein.
Force-free, science-backed methods, always. No shock collars, no prong collars, no dominance theory, just training grounded in how dogs actually learn. Your dog builds real skills without being trained through fear.
Every dog gets an individualized plan. No cookie-cutter curriculum. Whether it's private coaching for a reactive dog or a group class for a social one, your plan is built around your dog's temperament, history, and goals.
Experienced trainers who know reactive dogs. We specialize in reactivity, fear, and anxiety. We've built our reputation on getting results where a "big box" class fell short.
A team as invested in your dog as you are. You'll get real updates, real answers to your questions, and a trainer who remembers your dog's name and story; not just a number moving through a program.
How It Works
Getting Started Is Simple
Getting started is easy! Here is what to expect as you get started in training.
1 - Book Online & Submit Vaccination Records
Choose your date and time in just a few clicks. Prior to your session, please send us up-to-date vaccination records for Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella — required for all dogs.
2 - Prepare for Your Scheduled Session
Please arrive at your scheduled start time - if your session is at the gym, we ask that guests do not arrive early, as we may have another dog in the gym. At your home, be sure to have your dog secured and on leash if possible.
3 - During the training session
You and your trainer will work on the behaviors and issues that you have identified. Each plan is set up for your individual dog and your lifestyle.
4 - After the session
After your session, you will receive a write up of what was covered and things to work on. You can also reach out for support through email, or phone calls with your trainer.

What Our Clients Are Saying
Norton Norris
Owned by Abby
The facility is bright, clean, and spacious. We've completed Puppy Basics, Intermediate Manners & are now taking Doggy Parkour. Our Frenchie has also attended puppy playgroups & open gyms. She really enjoys coming to Canine Einstein & loves the staff/trainers. And we love how tired she is after her sessions in the gym. I've learned so much about enrichment activities & positive reinforcement. I also like that they have a large parking lot, green space for potty breaks, and their facility is all on one floor.
Vince and Amy Cottingham

Within ONE walk, I was walking a completely different dog. After each session I received a full summary with videos and pictures — Walter always looked so happy! I know exactly who to call for any future tune-ups.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What does "force-free" training actually mean?
It means we never use pain, fear, or intimidation to change behavior. No shock collars, no prong collars, no alpha rolls. Instead, we use positive reinforcement and clear communication to help your dog understand what's being asked and want to do it. It's backed by decades of behavioral science, and it builds a dog that trusts you rather than one that's just afraid to act out.
Should I start with private training or a group class?
It depends on your dog. If your dog is reactive, fearful, anxious, or working through a specific issue like resource guarding or leash reactivity, start with private sessions — a group setting can set that progress back. If your dog is social and confident and you're working on foundational obedience or want socialization practice, a group class is a great fit. Not sure which one? Tell us about your dog and we'll point you in the right direction.
My dog is reactive or has bitten before- can you still help?
Yes- this is a specialty of ours, not a dog we turn away. Reactive and fearful dogs need a trainer who can read body language and manage thresholds carefully, and that's exactly what our private sessions are built for. We'll start wherever your dog is at and build a plan around their safety and comfort. We also offer our reactive dog program, You Have a Friend. After graduation from the class, we have a community of reactive dog owners that is growing everyday!
How long until I see results?
Most clients notice a shift in their dog's behavior within the first few sessions, but real, lasting change is a process, not a switch you flip. Timelines vary by dog, the behavior we're working on, and how much practice happens between sessions. We'll give you an honest read on progress and next steps every step of the way.
What age can my puppy start training?
As early as 8 weeks old. Early training and socialization make a real difference in the dog your puppy grows into, and it's much easier to build good habits from the start than to troubleshoot them later.
What should I expect at my first session?
We'll start by getting to know your dog, their history, temperament, and what's bringing you in, before doing any hands-on work. From there, we'll walk you through an initial assessment and a training plan tailored to your goals, and you'll leave with concrete next steps you can start practicing right away.
