Milwaukee’s Best-Kept Secret for Dog Owners: Private Indoor Gym Rentals at Canine Einstein
Does your dog need a safe, stimulating space to run, explore, and just be a dog? Our private gym rentals (also called private play sessions)might be exactly what you've been looking for.
If you're a Milwaukee dog owner, you already know the struggle. The weather is unpredictable, dog parks can feel chaotic, and finding a space where your pup can truly cut loose, without the stress of other dogs, strangers, or overstimulating environments, isn't always easy.
That's exactly why so many Milwaukee dog owners are discovering Canine Einstein's private indoor gym rentals(also called private play sessions). Think of it as your dog's own personal indoor dog park, available by the half hour or hour, and designed with their physical and mental wellbeing in mind.
More Than Just Playtime: It's a Brain Workout
What makes our gym rentals different from simply letting your dog loose in a fenced yard? It comes down to what's inside the space.
Our indoor gym is stocked with a thoughtfully curated mix of agility equipment, enrichment puzzles, and sensory toys- all designed to give your dog the opportunity to problem solve and learn to think. We're talking A-frames, dog walks, balance boards, tunnels, jumps, pools with balls, bottles and styrofoam noodles and tables on the equipment side, plus a wide variety of puzzles, shredders, toys, and creative enrichment activities to engage their nose, paws, and brain.
When a dog has to figure out how to navigate a balance board, climb an A-frame at their own pace, or work through an enrichment puzzle, they're building critical cognitive skills that carry over into their everyday life. A dog that gets to use their brain is a calmer, more confident dog at home.
Building Confidence, One Obstacle at a Time

For dogs who are nervous, anxious, or easily overwhelmed, the gym is a game-changer. The combination of agility equipment like tunnels, jumps, and dog walks alongside enrichment puzzles, shredders, and sensory toys works together to build confidence as dogs learn to work through initial hesitation and stress at their own pace.
Here's the key: we don't rush it. At Canine Einstein, our gym sessions follow the principles of Sara Fisher's ACE (Animal Centered Education) Free Work framework. Free Work gives your dog complete control over when they interact with something in the environment and how they interact with it. There are no expectations, no pressure, and no "you have to do this." Your dog gets to be the one calling the shots.
What happens when an animal is given that kind of control? They start to explore. They start to try. They discover that the scary-looking thing isn't so scary after all and that discovery comes entirely from them. That's where real confidence comes from.
A Safe Haven for Sensitive Dogs
Not every dog thrives in a busy, unpredictable environment and that's okay. For dogs who are sensitive to other people or other dogs, navigating public spaces like traditional dog parks can be stressful, and sometimes even counterproductive to their progress.
Our private play sessions offer a completely enclosed, controlled environment where your dog can run, sniff, and play off leash without the unpredictability of strangers or other animals. No unexpected greetings. No overstimulation. Just your dog, the space, and the freedom to enjoy it.
For owners, that peace of mind is everything. You can relax knowing your pup is safe, and watch them thrive in a way that might not be possible anywhere else in Milwaukee.
For Every Dog, Every Stage of Life
One of our favorite things about private gym rentals? They truly are for every dog.
Young puppies building their confidence for the first time. Senior dogs who need low-impact enrichment and gentle movement. High-energy adolescents who need an outlet. Dogs in recovery from an injury who still need mental stimulation or need to use our balance equipment to practice their physical therapy. The gym adapts to your dog's needs not the other way around. In fact, we have had deaf dogs, blind dogs and dogs of all sizes at the gym!
Whether your dog is 10 weeks or 10 years old, whether they're an athlete or a couch potato who just needs a change of scenery, a private play session at Canine Einstein has something to offer.
Why Weekly Sessions Make All the Difference
We love seeing dogs come in for a one-off session but the real transformation happens with consistency.
Private play sessions are most beneficial when done weekly. Confidence-building, problem-solving, and stress resilience are all skills that develop over time and with repetition. A dog who visits the gym regularly starts to show up differently: more relaxed from the moment they walk in, more willing to try new things, and often calmer and more settled at home in the hours that follow.
Think of it like a standing gym membership for your dog except way more fun than the treadmill! We even offer a monthly membership that reduces the cost of each rental by $5.
A Success Story- Plop and Petunia

Let me tell you about a client who has two French bulldogs, Plop and Petunia. We met their owners at a Frenchie meet up in Milwaukee. Plop was at home because he was reactive to other dogs (due to a medical issue that limited his vision). Petunia was nervous, not wanting to engage with the other dogs.
We spoke with the owners about using regular, weekly gym rentals to help with Petunias confidence and to give Plop a safe place to explore. An added benefit was the Plop would be able to use the balance equipment to help improve his fitness- he has IVDD and a strong core and flexible body are key for his comfort.
Plop and Petunia began with weekly rentals focused on balance work, stretching, and learning to navigate their bodies through different obstacles. At first, the dogs needed a lot of encouragement, and were very tired after 15-20 min. However, their owners saw the benefits happening.
They noticed that Petunia was growing in confidence, and Plop was building endurance and moving better. It’s been a little over a year since they started coming and the changes are incredible! Both dogs love the full half hour rentals, they run and explore the entire time! Petunia and Plop both now attend Frenchie meet ups and they have fun! Petunia and Plop both now have the confidence to run and play with the other dogs. Petunia doesn't need constant reassurance from her owner and Plop isn't intimidated by the other dogs because he can physically keep up with them better.
Plop and Petunias owners shared with us how they have seen both dogs grow in confidence and how excited they get when it’s time for their weekly play session.
